LCCC Trips

The Lower Columbia Canoe Club is located in a year-round paddling paradise. We have many boatable rivers, Class I though IV, less than 3 hours driving distance. Some are rainy season runs, some are dry season runs, some are any season runs. Many of our whitewater runs are written up in Soggy Sneakers by Pete Giordano (highly recommended) and Paddling Oregon by Robb Keller. Many of our flat/moving water runs are described in Canoe and Kayak Routes of Northwest Oregon by Philip Jones (updates here). These books are readily available from Amazon.com or local bookstores. It is highly recommended you own these books and read their descriptions of any run before doing it with the club.

[Note: One reason we recommend these books is that trip participants, not LCCC trip coordinators, are responsible for deciding the appropriateness of a run for their skill level. These books will help you determine that.]

Current river levels can be checked by calling the Oregon River Forecast Center (503) 261-9246 or online: Oregon, Washington. Paddlers also like the site run by Pat Welch that gives levels for many Western rivers.

Below is a chart of some of the rivers we do throughout the year.
